Stone County Regional Facility Overview

Stone County Regional Correctional Facility is the county's main detention facility and the only facility resolved from the research facility map. County sources use the full regional-correctional-facility name. MDOC lists the same site as Stone County Correctional Facility, classifies it as a regional facility, and names John Moran as warden. The sheriff page and visitation packet identify Sheriff Todd Stewart and place the sheriff's office and facility at the same Industrial Park Road address in Wiggins.

The facility holds several possible custody groups. Local Stone County jail detainees and recent bookings are searched through the Tiger/TCSI public roster. State offenders tied to MDOC status are searched through MDOC. Federal sentenced prisoners are searched through BOP, and federal pretrial custody may involve the U.S. Marshals Service because a Stone County Regional Correctional Facility intergovernmental agreement exists in USMS records. No separate city jail, BOP prison, ICE facility, or independent state prison in Stone County was found.

SCRCF Capacity and Population

MDOC daily inmate population reporting located in the research lists Stone County capacity as 280 in November 2024. An older BJS/Census-derived correctional population source listed 276 in a Census 2020 context, so the build uses 280 as the preferred current capacity figure. The public active roster showed 15 active inmates in June 2026, but that figure is only the visible county roster count and should not be treated as the full regional facility population.

The difference between capacity and the active public roster count is important. SCRCF is a regional facility, and the county roster may not list every MDOC regional offender or every custody category at the site. Use roster data for local public lookup and MDOC data for sentenced state custody.

Search SCRCF Inmate Records

The correct lookup path depends on custody status. The Stone County active roster is the first stop for local jail custody and current public entries. It has active, recently booked, and recently released tabs. A state-sentenced person should be searched in the MDOC inmate search by name or MDOC ID number. Federal and immigration custody require separate systems.

The MDOC listing supports treating this as both a county detention point and a regional correctional facility, not as two separate buildings.

SCRCF Address and Contact

The sheriff page, visitation packet, and MDOC facility listing all point to the same facility address and phone. The main sheriff number is different from the jail information line. Use the facility line for custody and visit questions, and use the sheriff's office line for sheriff records, public-records routing, and office matters during business hours.

Visiting Someone at SCRCF

SCRCF uses an approved-visitation-list process. The application is titled "Application to Visit an Offender" and must be returned to the facility. It asks for applicant and offender information, including the offender's MDOC number, and the packet says unreadable applications are denied. Notification of approval or denial goes to the incarcerated person, who must notify the visitor. Visitors age 14 or older need valid picture ID, and visitors under 14 need a valid state birth certificate.

The rules are detailed. Visitors and vehicles are subject to search while on facility grounds. Staff will not hold non-allowable items. No new visitors are allowed during the last 30 minutes of a visitation period. Only six visitors are allowed per inmate during each visitation. Felony convictions generally bar visits unless an immediate-family exception is approved in writing by the Superintendent or designee.

SCRCF Visitor Rules

The packet lists a strict dress code and item limits. Shirts must have sleeves. Pants must be worn at the waist. Shoes are required, and flip-flops that look like MDOC shower shoes are barred. No tank tops, sleeveless tops, bare midriffs, above-knee shorts, cutoffs, jogging shorts, biking shorts, tights, leggings, see-through clothing, hats, caps, bandanas, sunglasses, or gang signs are allowed. Jewelry is limited to a wedding ring, medical alert bracelet, or religious medallion.

• Allowed visitor cash is limited to $20 in change in a clear plastic bag.
• One clear diaper bag, four diapers, two clear baby bottles, one clothing change, one pacifier, wipes, and necessary infant medication may be allowed for infants.
• Cell phones, pagers, recording devices, tobacco, alcohol, drugs, food, and contraband are prohibited.
• No visitation is held on a fifth Saturday or fifth Sunday.

SCRCF Mail Money and Phone

No complete public mail policy was located in official Stone County sources. Use the facility address and call before sending books, packages, photos, money, or legal mail. Do not assume postcard-only rules or scan-and-destroy rules because those were not documented in the research. Booking and Intake at SCRCF

Local intake starts with arrest by the sheriff's department, Wiggins Police Department, a state agency, or another agency. The sample public profile showed Wiggins Police Department as an arresting agency, so city arrests may still appear on the county roster. Intake can lead to public fields for booking number, booking date and time, arresting agency, demographics, booking photo, scheduled release date, charges, bond amounts, and fines.

After intake, a person who remains in custody can move into first appearance. Stone County Justice Court judges hold court sessions at the jail three times each week. Felony cases can later be bound over to the grand jury and Stone County Circuit Court. A state sentence can shift the person into MDOC lookup even if the physical facility remains the same regional site.

The visitor address is 1420 Industrial Park Road, Wiggins, MS 39577. The facility is in an industrial-park setting, not at the courthouse on East Cavers Avenue. From the US 49 corridor, route into Wiggins and use local road signs or GPS for Industrial Park Road. From the courthouse area, expect a short local drive rather than a walk-up jail counter inside the court building. Official sources do not publish parking rates, bus routes, or an ADA entrance layout, so call ahead for accessible entry or visitor parking questions.
